“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23
On the heels of a very emotionally charged election season, I felt it necessary to share what God ministered to me this morning.
Not everything deserves our attention. What we let in—whether through conversations, media, or relationships—can either nourish us or drain us.
Guarding our hearts means setting boundaries that protect the purity of our love and intentions. We don’t have to let every opinion or situation in.
In a world filled with confusion, uncertainty, and chaos, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and emotional. Repeated exposure to this can cause us to grow hard and cynical.
While our emotions are very real and valid, we don’t have to let them lead us. Acknowledging and processing them against God’s truth is the key to staying open and compassionate.
Take time today, and every day, to fill your heart with the things of God. Pray, study His Word, enjoy the love of family and community, spend time in His presence, and reflect on His goodness.
The world may change, but allow your faith to anchor you, no matter what life throws your way.
